“Witty, humorous, fun!” — Marija F. Sullivan, author, Sarajevo Walls of Fate

“Very funny…the satire and parody work on a number of levels. The language is often vivid and evocative and the dialogue in particular is very strong…a fine book [that] fires on all cylinders.” — Ed Kavanagh, author, The Confessions of Nipper Mooney

Can a man who throws his dates in a dungeon find a girlfriend?

A recipient of the H. R. (Bill) Percy Prize, Royal Flush is a novel about a man known only as the King, and as his Kingdom careens toward catastrophe, he cruises seedy taverns looking for likely maidens.

His incompetence and his weakness for beautiful women drag him deeper and deeper into trouble. He is portrayed as a cross dresser by the Kingdom Crier (the Kingdom’s most popular tabloid). Shortly after, he must defend his castle against a siege with only his royal fiddler–while attempting to steal his royal fiddler’s girlfriend.

    Royal Flush….

    where to even start?

Funny, bizarre Kingdom reign by the King with great power, but still not enough to have it under control. Or it only seems that way at first.

    Perfect! Hilarious! Witty! Cute!

When I first started reading it I wasn’t sure what to expect. But every page made me more and more involved and finally got me caught in it. So funny written, with some sentences that seem to be from long ago time.

Glassblower scene at the beginning was so bittersweet. Wish there was a scene of him trying to make that heart that would shatter in one person’s hands. Just intrigued about that.

Oh and the goat.. LOL!! Made me laugh so hard every time the goat was mentioned.

Blaming the King for everything that goes wrong because of divine right made me laugh too.
Etc, etc.. I have at least half of the book underlined. =) (think you guessed that by my tweets lol).

I laughed, I was sad, at some parts I was even mad at the King for not taking things into his hands right away.

Really, really loved and enjoyed reading it. The whole story is so colorful and alive, made me have little scenes in my head whole time. I wish there was a play one day, based on your book. That’s something I would really be excited to see!

    Greets Scott!
