A report by the Geological Survey of Canada notes that the country is situated atop enough geothermal resources to supply 1 million times the electricity Canada currently consumes.

The report states that “As few as 100 projects could meet Canada’s energy needs”.

This is especially good news, because unlike solar and wind power, geothermal provides a constant flow of energy.

Canada doesn’t currently have any geothermal installations. We are, however, extremely active in the Albertan tar sands.
