Migraine Relief

Do you suffer from migraines?

Sarah MacDonald used to get them–bad ones, which confined her to a dark room for at least one entire day every week.

Then she started thinking about the chemicals in the cleaning products she used in her house. She made a list of five products she couldn’t live without, and got rid of the rest. Then she bought more natural versions of the five essential products from a health food store.

Sarah’s migraines are almost gone.

Alexandra Carmichael also experienced migraines, for five days in a row. At the beginning of this period, Alexandra and her husband started using Febreze. When they stopped, and cleaned their apartment with vinegar and baking soda to remove any residue, her migraines disappeared. They also noticed an improvement in the temperament of their daughter, who had become cranky when they started using Febreze.

Do these stories have a moral for we here on the Batshite blog? Let’s try:

If you don’t want migraines, stop using harmful chemicals in your living space.

Wait. I can do better:

Convenience comes at a cost.

Do you suffer from migraines? What’s worked for you to alleviate them?

Moving my diet from average garbage to more healthy foods has almost completely eliminated my acid reflux.

Makes sense to me! It’s tempting to use chemicals/eat poorly because it’s easy, but the simple fact is that our body will respond to what we put in it.

No wonder people get headaches and have allergic reactions to strong perfumes. I’d think all of our bodies are allergic to those kinds of chemicals.

I think so too. Maybe the allergies are only the visible effects. I wouldn’t be surprised if such chemicals contribute to cancer.
